Colgate has made two new appointments to its board of directors, coinciding with the retirement of long-serving employee Jill Conway.
Novartis chief executive officer (CEO) Joseph Jiminez takes up his position on the board as of this week, as will Dr Helene Gayle, president and CEO of Care.
Ms Conway will remain at the company until May 7th 2010 having opted against standing for re-election to the board, thereby ending her 26-year association with the company.
Ian Cook, president and CEO of Colgate, acknowledged the contribution of Ms Conway to the firm during her employment while hailing the appointment of the two new board members.
He said: "We are delighted to welcome Dr Gayle and Mr Jimenez to the board and are pleased that they will contribute their outstanding capabilities to Colgate."
Last month, the oral care company announced an increase to its ongoing quarterly common stock cash dividend to reflect its forecasts of fiscal growth in the immediate future.
