Animalcare experiences revenue improvement in 2009
Animalcare has experienced improved business performance in 2009 thanks to growth across all of its main business areas.
The UK animal health company’s 2009 financial report revealed that its revenues for the year stood at £8.9 million, a 15 per cent increase compared to the £7.8 million taken in 2008.
It stated that new product developments over the last year have driven an increase in sales of veterinary medicines, while its pet identification and animal welfare business units also saw improved performance.
James Lambert, chairman of Animalcare, stated that he was pleased with the company’s results, which come despite “challenging” conditions in the livestock sector.
He added: “We anticipate trading to improve in the second half of the year and are confident that our licensed veterinary medicines will continue to deliver revenue and profit growth in line with expectations.”
This week, the firm also revealed that its finance director and company secretary John Tobin will be departing later this year to pursue an independent career.
