Waters and Daiso agree deal on process chromatography media
23 February 2010 00:00 in Scientific
Waters is to enter into collaboration with technical services firm Daiso to jointly market the Japanese company's range of bulk packing materials for process chromatography.
The two companies will be pooling their resources and expertise to sell the Daisogel product, which is designed to assist pharmaceutical firms in conducting large-scale purification initiatives.
Waters will also be contributing its patented Optimum Bed Density technology to ensure that the packing of Daisogel allows for the creation of reliable preparative columns.
The firm stated that these quality assurances are to become increasingly important given the amount of money required to manufacture new drugs.
It added: "The combined purification expertise of both organisations will aid pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies as they move from lab-scale purifications into pilot plant and process-scale manufacturing."
Last week, the science company launched its new Viridis supercritical fluid chromatography columns, which are designed to allow for easier purification of compounds.
