The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ratified that the company has made significant improvements to its quality system, meaning that it will no longer be compelled to ship its devices in limited quantities.
Brian Webster, president of Physio-Control, welcomed the regulator's decision, stating that it is a testament to the work and investments it has put into enhancing the standard of its services.
He stated that meeting the FDA's requirements has been a "challenge" but expressed confidence that the company's products are now better than they have ever been.
"The end results of this journey will be strengthened engagement with our customers and best-in-class products that will support the emergency care community," added Mr Webster.
Last month, parent company Medtronic agreed a deal to acquire Invatec, a medical technology firm which specialises in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.Other news stories from 22/02/2010
