B Braun Medical revealed recently that its latest product has been launched on to the healthcare equipment market - the WHIN Safe Huber needle.
The product is an implantable port access device that incorporates the features of two separate safety devices in a single Huber Needle.
It provides clinicians with advanced protection from needle-stick injuries and expelled blood and fluid, the company stated, and comes in three variations.
These are a standard model, a model with a needle-free injection site and a model with an open Y-injection site.
They all include a safety shield that covers the needle tip as it is withdrawn, ensuring both clinician and patient safety.
Director of marketing vascular access for B Braun Medical Tom Sutton commented: "The key to the WHIN Safe Huber Needle is that it requires minimal change in technique on the part of clinicians."
Last month, B Braun Medical announced that it has established a worldwide investment programme which will allow for the development of new production facilities, as well as the expansion of existing sites.
