Entitled Be a Flu Fighter, the initiative will target schools and hospitals to improve communication regarding the prevention of the virus' spread.
It aims to enhance the ability of healthcare professionals at schools, hospitals and laboratories to slow the spread of influenza through good hygiene, vaccination and other flu-prevention strategies.
Complimentary, printer-friendly materials can be accessed through the firm's website, along with information for hospitals and laboratories that obtain and handle flu diagnosis specimens.
Tobi Karchmer, medical director of the division BD Diagnostics, stated: "Our role goes beyond providing quality products and includes enabling healthcare professionals to effectively spread the word about practices that can lead to better prevention, diagnosis and therapy for infectious diseases."
