Its total assets amounted to 783.7 million Japanese yen (5.572 million pounds) during the period, while its net sales for the full year - ended March 31st 2010 - are predicted to total 770 million yen.
Its consolidated net sales for the nine months ended December 31st 2009 stood at 591.4 million yen.
Nikon's bioscience business performed particularly well, it stated, remaining strong since the start of the fiscal year.
Among the product releases it instigated during the period were the two new super resolution microscopes N-SIM and N-STORM, which were introduced to the market in December.
During the same month, announced that it received an order from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa).
