Posted on 04/02/2010 in Medical Company Product News Molnlycke Health Care has announced that it will donate 100,000 euros (87,456 pounds) worth of medical products to various relief groups in a bid to help those suffering in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake, which struck the country last month.
The firm will help to re-supply hospitals treating those affected, as shortages of vital treatments pose a threat to their health.
According to the organisation, "many thousands" of people are in need of medical attention and as part of its corporate responsibility projects and its status as a major surgical, wound care and infection control supplier, it is compelled to offer assistance.
Thousands of pairs of surgical gloves, absorbent and self-adhesive wound dressings, surgical gowns and antiseptic products are among the items being sent out by the company.
"As we are all aware, the earthquake in Haiti has caused a severe humanitarian crisis of historic proportions," said Pierre Guyot, chief executive officer of Molnlycke Health Care.
Some of the company's key brands include BARRIER, Biogel, HiBi, ProcedurePak, Mepilex and Tubigrip.Other news stories from 04/02/2010
