Posted on 03/02/2010 in Scientific Zinsser Analytic has launched its new ProCrys Meso product, a liquid handling platform designed for the preparation of up to 96 in-meso proteins.
The company suggested that the device makes the handling of membrane proteins in lipidic mesophases easier and improves what has always been "a very tedious and time-consuming task".
It also indicated that the product has several other advantages, adding that "ProCrys Meso not only increases the throughput and the reproducibility of the experiments, it also reduces costs".
A one-metre long liquid handling platform featuring two pipette arms forms the base of ProCrys Meso.
The first arm utilises pipetting probes to prepare screening solutions, which it then distributes across the crystallisation plate. The second arm transfers nanolitre volumes of the protein solution.
