The firm's global sales of $3.5 billion (2.1 billion pounds) represent an 11 per cent increase on the $3.1 billion reported during 2008, while Baxter's worldwide sales were also discovered to have risen by six per cent.
International sales within the fourth quarter grew 15 per cent to $2.1 billion.
Furthermore, the group's reported net income reached $572 million - an increase of one per cent from the $569 million reported in the fourth quarter of 2008.
Both its bioscience and medication delivery divisions also underwent 12 per cent growth during the fourth quarter.
Robert Parkinson, chairman and chief executive officer of Baxter, said: "Each of our businesses and regions contributed to our strong financial performance in the fourth quarter and for the full year, which reinforces the value of the diversified business model."
