Posted on 28/01/2010 in Scientific Source BioScience revealed this week that it has expanded its DNA sequencing services with the purchase of two new Illumina Genome Analyzer IIx platforms.
The first commercial service provider for this technology in the UK, Source BioScience believes that its latest investment will cement its status as one of Europe's leading names in the field.
According to the firm, the introduction of the extra capacity will address the immediate demand for its Illumina sequencing services, while facilitating increased reliability, throughput and process security.
Managing director of Source BioScience Nick Ash commented: "We originally selected the Illumina platform because the data quality, reproducibility, flexibility and breadth of applications are, in our opinion, the best in the industry."
Last November, Source BioScience announced that its revenues rose by ten per cent between July 1st 2009 and November 17th 2009.
