Posted on 27/01/2010 in Scientific Waters, a supplier of products for the scientific industry, has revealed its financial results for the final quarter of 2009.
The company reported sales of $429 million (265.7 million pounds) for the timeframe - a rise of three per cent from the $418 million reported in the correlating period of 2008.
Its sales for the full year amounted to $1.50 billion, marking a decrease of five per cent compared to the sum of $1.58 billion, which was reported for 2008.
This, the company explained, is due to the effects of foreign currency translation.
Douglas Berthiaume, chairman, president and chief executive officer of the company, stated that the firm faced hostile market conditions in 2009, but worked to manage its expenses and continued to invest in product development.
"As a result of these efforts, we were able to grow our earnings and generate strong cash flow while bringing exciting new products to market," he explained.
