Amgen announces financial results for fourth quarter of 2009
Amgen has posted its financial results for the final quarter of 2009, revealing a revenue increase of two per cent during the timeframe.
The company’s revenue rose from to $3,751 million (2,312 million pounds) in the fourth quarter of 2008 to $3,809 million for the period.
During the period, total product sales also increased by two per cent to $3,743 million, up from the $3,674 reported during the correlating quarter of 2008.
For the full year, international sales underwent little change, standing at $3,216 million, compared to $3,227 million in the prior year.
Kevin Sharer, chairman and chief executive officer of Amgen, declared: “We delivered solid performance in 2009 and look forward to growing our top and bottom line meaningfully in 2010. We are ready and look forward to launching denosumab worldwide this year.”
Earlier this week, Amgen announced that two phase III clinical studies into its metastatic colorectal cancer therapy Vectibix (panitumumab) produced promising outcomes.
