CooperVision has announced the appointment of a new vice-president of global professional relations within its global commercial strategy division.
The position has been taken by Richard Clompus, who will support the firm's clinical trials and professional affairs in the global contact lens marketplace.
Mr Clompus, who worked in private practice for 20 years, is the former director of The Vision Care Institute and was previously employed by Johnson and Johnson Vision Care within its Spectacle Lens Group and Vistakon divisions.
Jeffrey McLean, executive vice-president of global commercial strategy at CooperVision, stated that the organisation's latest recruit is sure to bring technical expertise and experience to the company.
He continued: "We look forward to his contribution as we continue to develop our professional relations strategy, clinical programmes and enhance the overall experience of our customers."
In November, CooperVision revealed that it planned to make improvements to its Avaira two-week replacement silicone hydrogel contact lenses.
