| Quintiles executive takes CDISC position | Posted on 21/01/2010 in Marketing Services Quintiles has announced that the firm's executive vice-president Paula Brown Stafford is set to take a new position on the board of directors at the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC).
Ms Stafford will become chair-elect at CDISC, which aims to reduce complexity in biomedical research and facilitate the flow of information to the healthcare industry.
Having joined Quintiles as a biostatistician in 1985, Ms Stafford has occupied various leadership positions for the company, working in Europe and the US.
She became a member of the board at CDISC in 2006 and is now taking on more responsibility in the attempt to bring research standards in line with healthcare aims.
Commenting on her new role, she said: "The biopharmaceutical industry is trying to manage constantly evolving data standards.
"CDISC is assisting the industry in eliminating complexity as biopharmaceutical companies strive to be more efficient."
The non-profit organisation recently confirmed details of its Interchange Europe conference, which is set to take place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London from April 26th to 30th.
