Posted on 20/01/2010 in Medical Company Product News Medtronic has asked long-distance runners from across the globe who use medical devices to help it develop new technologies.
A maximum of 25 individuals will be selected by the group to receive paid entry for themselves and a guest to the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon or the Medtronic TC 10 Mile event.
The Global Heroes programme initiative comprises a partnership between Twin Cities in Motion and the Medtronic Foundation.
Those who wish to apply need to be users of medical devices that control conditions such as diabetes, chronic pain, heart disease or neurological, gastroenterology and urological disorders.
Dr Steve Oesterle, senior vice-president of medicine and technology at Medtronic, said that participants "are a dynamic example of how individuals with chronic health conditions are living full, active lives and inspiring others in the process".
