| BD division to collaborate with ReaMetrix to develop CD4 testing products | Posted on 13/01/2010 in Medical Company Product News BD Biosciences, a division of BD, has announced that it will go into partnership with ReaMetrix for the co-development of dried reagents for its BD FACSCount Flow Cytometry System.
The financial details of the contract have not been revealed, although the partnership will see the firms collaborate to tackle challenges posed to the monitoring of patients - including a lack of access to testing facilities and a shortage of skilled laboratory professionals.
The BD FACSCount Flow Cytometry System is used throughout countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America for CD4 monitoring of those living with HIV and AIDS.
Bill Rhodes, president of BD Biosciences, commented: "Collaborating with ReaMetrix, a state-of-the-art research and development company [...] offers BD the opportunity to increase our reach even further into resource-limited settings where refrigeration is unavailable."
This news comes after BD announced the availability of Clinical Innovations last November - its education course designed for those who work in laboratories.Other news stories from 13/01/2010
