Idexx, supplier of veterinary products, has revealed that its customer base expanded significantly in 2009.
The firm announced that it distributed in excess of 2,000 Catalyst Dx chemistry analysers last year, bringing the installed base to nearly 2,800.
Launched in the first quarter of 2008, the product is a next-generation chemistry instrument and part of the IDEXX VetLab range of analysers.
Additionally, the company's base of IDEXX SmartService customers increased to more than 2,000 during the period.
SmartService provides veterinary practices using the IDEXX VetLab suite of instruments with online support, which is designed to reduce instrument downtime and improve practice workflow.
Jonathan Ayers, chief executive officer of the firm, said: "Both Catalyst Dx and SmartService support our objective to provide products and services that help veterinary practices offer a higher standard of care and improve their businesses."
Further positive news was announced by Idexx last month, as it announced that its H1N1 Influenza Virus RealPCR Test has been performing well regarding its ability to detect the virus in canines.
