| Quintiles venture featured in Harvard Business Review | Posted on 11/01/2010 in Marketing Services Quintiles has won recognition for its recent success in developing a strategic partnership with Solvay Pharmaceuticals.
The company's fruitful corporate alliance with Solvay is profiled in the January/February issue of the Harvard Business Review, which examines how the relationship was monitored to deliver value for both parties.
As well as major cost savings, the alliance helped to reduce the total cycle time for Solvay clinical studies by 40 per cent.
Ron Wooten, executive vice-president of Quintiles Corporate Development, said that about half of such relationships between biopharmaceutical companies fail due to a lack of "alliance expertise and commitment".
He added: "This article details how Solvay and Quintiles worked together to achieve transformational change."
The full case study from the Harvard Business Review, entitled Managing Alliances with the Balanced Scorecard, will be available on the Quintiles website for a limited period.
Last month, Quintiles announced that over two million volunteers have now signed up to its online clinical research community iGuard.org.
