Posted on 11/01/2010 in Pharmaceutical Company Restructures Biogen Idec has announced the recruitment of a new executive vice-president of global commercial operations this week.
He has previously served as a group vice-president at Schering-Plough, as well as holding executive commercial leadership posts at Pharmacia and Pfizer.
Mr Granata will be responsible for worldwide commercial operations at Biogen Idec's global commercial strategy and global medical affairs.
As well as Mr Granata, Biogen Idec has also appointed Tony Kingsley senior-vice president of commercial operations and Frederick Munschauer as vice-president of medical affairs.
Robert Hamm, chief operating officer of the firm, stated: "Today's appointments are an important step for Biogen Idec's commercial and medical operations and will be instrumental to our efforts to drive strong product revenue growth."
Last summer, the organisation's Multiple Sclerosis therapy Avonex (interferon beta-1a) was granted approval for use in patients who have experienced their first clinical MS episode.Other news stories from 11/01/2010
