Posted on 06/01/2010 in Medical Company Product News Bausch and Lomb has made the Crystalens Aspheric Optic (AO) lens available to cataract surgeons around the world.
In a statement, the medical device supplier explained that its new product is the first aberration-free accommodating intraocular lens with aspheric optics.
Featuring prolate aspheric surfaces, the Crystalens AO aims to enhance retinal image quality without any compromise on depth of field.
Commenting, Andy Corley, global president of the surgical division of Bausch and Lomb, said he is confident that the new product will further establish the Crystalens range as the "gold standard" for quality of vision.
Amy Jacobs, director of global marketing for the Crystalens, added: "We believe that the Crystalens AO will be viewed very favourably to competitive lenses and will be attractive to a wider range of surgeons and patients."
The availability of the Crystalens AO lens comes after Bausch and Lomb launched the E2407 Raviv Capsulorhexis Caliper last month.Other news stories from 06/01/2010
