Posted on 23/12/2009 in Scientific Phadia's ImmunoCAP Rapid test has been declared a reliable product for the detection of atopic backgrounds in youths with moderate to severe asthma and rhinitis.
The firm highlighted research conducted by the Multi-Centre Allergy Study, which found that the overall sensitivity and specificity of the test compared to the conclusion of a doctor was 92 per cent and 97 per cent respectively.
According to the company, the report concluded that ImmunoCAP Rapid Wheeze/Rhinitis Child diagnostic device is effective and adheres to current guidelines issued by ARIA and GINA.
Meanwhile, Phadia announced the availability of a test kit in November which has the capability to identify egg allergies in those about to receive swine flu virus vaccines.
As many vaccines are cultivated within chickens' eggs and therefore contain traces of the foodstuff, Phadia highlighted the danger of this for those with egg allergies and sensitivities. Other news stories from 23/12/2009
