Under the terms of the agreement, the scientific organisation explained that it will have the rights to distribute CompuCyte's laser scanning cytometers in cellular analysis markets around the globe.

Brad Calvin, vice-president for flow cytometry at Beckman Coulter, added: "This will enable us to provide researchers around the world with a broad range of technology for cell-based research from a single service provider."
He also said that the deal provides the firm with a sophisticated imaging platform that "nicely complements" its growing product portfolio in the flow cyotmetry sector.
