Merck appoints Dr Michael Rosenblatt as executive vice-president
Merck has appointed Dr Michael Rosenblatt as executive vice-president chief medical officer.
Merck has announced the appointment of Dr Michael Rosenblatt as its executive vice-president and chief medical officer.
In a statement, the pharmaceutical organisation explained that he will report directly to Richard T Clark, the chief executive officer, president and chairman of Merck.
Additionally, he will serve on the firm’s executive committee and take on a supervisory role at the company’s Global Center for Scientific Affairs.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr Clark said that he is pleased to welcome Dr Rosenblatt to the company’s executive team, noting that his experience of nearly three decades in the industry will service him well in his new position.
“Merck’s fundamental mission is ensuring the wellbeing of patients worldwide and Dr Rosenblatt’s appointment reinforces our steadfast commitment to always remain focused on this goal,” he added.
Last month, Merck Sharpe and Dohme underscored its commitment to developing cardiovascular therapies, following the completion of its merger with Schering-Plough.
