IDS has revealed the appointment of its new non-executive director Dr Patrik Olof Dahlen.
The professional, who has had 20 years of experience in the diagnostic and life sciences sector, will begin his new role immediately.
He was appointed as the chief executive officer of Danish point-of-care diagnostics firm Chempaq A/S last month and in the past has held posts at DxS Diagnostics in Manchester and Cantion and DakoCytomation - which are both based in Copenhagen.
Chairman of IDS David Evans explained: "Patrik has huge international experience in the diagnostic sector with both large and instrument based IVD companies and will be invaluable to the IDS Board as it continues to execute its growth plans."
He added that the firm is "pleased" to welcome Mr Dahlen to its board.
IDS published its interim financial results for the six months to September 30th 2009 last month, which revealed that the organisation's revenues rose by 56 per cent to 16.9 million pounds during the period.
This is compared to the 10.8 million pounds recorded during the same time in 2008.
