Posted on 10/12/2009 in Scientific Life Technologies division Applied Biosystems has offered its latest product to the scientific instruments market - the Attune Acoustic Focusing Cytometer.
The product, it claimed, is a first of its kind cytometry system designed to use sound waves to control the movement of cells accurately.
Attune, which allows scientists to gather data on a large number of heterogeneous cells, also enables them to achieve enhanced sensitivity and save time by increasing throughput, the organisation added.
Nicolas Barthelemy, president of cell systems at Life Technologies, commented: "This instrument is ideally suited for cell signaling and rare event applications where sensitivity is critical and is a great addition to any cellular analysis laboratory."
In other Life Technologies news, the firm announced the forging of a partnership with the molecular diagnostic company TrimGen last month, which will see the KRAS and BRAF mutation detection assays sold under Life Technologies' Applied Biosystems brand.Other news stories from 10/12/2009
