Posted on 10/12/2009 in Pharmaceutical Company Product News Pfizer has unveiled the results of a recent study which showed that medical professionals are more likely to report drug side effects through an electronic health records (EHR) system than they are using paper methods.
Overall, 50 per cent said that they would be more likely to submit information about adverse events using an EHR system.
Furthermore, the study showed that almost 60 per cent of physicians who responded said that using an EHR system would work towards the improvement of patient care.
Freda Lewis-Hall, Pfizer's chief medical officer, said: "This survey furthers our understanding about how we can best use electronic health records systems to collect critical information about the safe and appropriate use of our products."
