The accolade, which is organised by the Dental Defence Union's (DDU), went to Susan Hooper, a consultant senior lecturer at the University of Bristol's Dental School, reports the educational hub's newspaper.
She was up against competition from some of the country's most talented and motivated teachers at 13 other dental schools.
In order to be considered for the accolade, individuals are required to demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm and innovation in their teaching methods, the publication adds.
Ms Hooper was awarded £250, plus a further £1,000 for educational materials as an overall category winner.
"I would like to thank the DDU, Dentsply and the BDA for promoting the work of dental teachers through this award," she is quoted by the newspaper as stating.
