Posted on 01/12/2009 in Pharmaceutical Company Product News Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced that it has gone into partnership with The National AIDS Fund (NAF), which involves a multi-year initiative set to start in January 2010.
The collaboration will see the two organisations work together to launch an initiative entitled Positive Change, which is designed to introduce AIDS and HIV treatment, care and support to those who have not previously been able to access it.
This agreement follows a survey conducted by Bristol-Myers Squibb over the last year which aimed to better understand the major barriers to people accessing HIV testing, care and treatment options.
Jill DeSimone, senior vice-president of virology at Bristol-Myers Squibb, stated: "This collaboration is another example of how we as an organisation are committed to making a difference in the lives of people living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS."
Last month, Bristol-Myers Squibb announced that the Food and Drug Administration lent its approval to the autism therapy ABILIFY (aripiprazole).
