Posted on 27/11/2009 in Scientific Radiometer has highlighted the outcome of a recent study, which concluded that its AQT90 FLEX immunoassay analyser currently provides the highest clinical specificity for D-dimer on the scientific instruments market.
Conducted by the Institute of Public Health at the University of Southern Denmark, the trial found that the product demonstrated excellent performance when used in the diagnosis of deep vein trombosis (DVT).
It was compared to similar products, such as the Biopool's Auto-Dimer Liatest D-Di from Diagnostica Stago, bioMerieux's Vidas New and the AxSYM D-dimer, which is manufactured by Abbott.
According to the institute's findings, the positive predicative value and specificity of the AQT90 FLEX D-dimer were superior to those of their counterpart's devices.
This news comes after the firm's ABL800 FLEX blood gas analyser was found to demonstrate the best clinical concordance when creatinine values were used to calculate estimated glomerular filtration rates by the department of laboratory medicine and pathology at the Mayo Clinic.
