Posted on 26/11/2009 in Veterinary Supplier News Pfizer Animal Health has offered those with dogs some tips on how to approach the subject of taking their pets with them to stay with family this Christmas.
According to the firm, it is always best to ask the host of the Christmas celebrations if they can bring their pet first and offer them reassurance that they can fully manage their dog throughout their stay.
Making the dog comfortable, bringing its regular food along and keeping track of its behaviour when around new people will also increase the likelihood of a trouble-free trip, the company adds.
Lastly, it recommends paying a visit to the vet ahead of the journey, as this will ensure that the pet's certificates - including its dog tags and vaccines - are all up to date.
Earlier this month, Pfizer Animal Health also highlighted the benefits of using its pet travel sickness treatment cerenia ahead of a long journey home this Christmas.
