Posted on 24/11/2009 in Scientific Life Technologies has announced the forging of a partnership with the molecular diagnostic company TrimGen.
As part of their collaboration, KRAS and BRAF mutation detection assays, which were developed and manufactured by the firm, will be sold under Life Technologies' Applied Biosystems brand.
Commercialisation of the products is set to be started during the first half of 2010.
The two mutation detection assays and the 3500 Series Genetic Analyser are for research use only and are not intended for diagnostic tasks.
Kip Miller, president of genetic systems for Life Technologies, stated: "We are very excited to be collaborating with TrimGen Corporation to provide our customers with specialised assays in the analysis of KRAS and BRAF mutations."
Earlier this month, Life Technologies signed a definitive agreement to purchase BioTrove.
The move will see BioTrove's products, including its OpenArray gene expression platform and next-generation sequencing facility the SOLiD System, utilised by the firm. Other news stories from 24/11/2009
