Generics UK re-brands as Mylan
17 November 2009 00:00 in Pharmacy Supplier News
Generics UK has re-branded its products to bear the name of its parent company Mylan.
This is part of its absorption into the global firm's infrastructure, thereby increasing its parent company's expertise and portfolio opportunities, it revealed.
As part of the process, all Generics UK packaging is to be phased out and replaced with that of Mylan, which has been designed specifically to focus on the strengths of each item and boost recognition among consumers.
The easier identification of its various products will also boost safety for their users, it added.
A particularly notable feature of the new packaging will be the space allowed on certain items for a dispensing label on the front, ensuring all information will be displayed on-pack as well as on the label.
Mylan's acquisition of Generics UK was completed in October 2007 and saw the latter firm become part of the former company, which has been producing generic and specialty pharmacy products for over 45 years.
