Roche Diagnostics has announced the availability of the new Cobas 8000 - an instrument that allows for large-scale, high speed in-vitro diagnostic testing.
This newest addition to the Cobas portfolio of integrated analysers is designed to facilitate fast and efficient testing procedures and aims to reduce sample turn-around times.
Tests run on the new platform provide clinical information in a wide range of medical areas such as infectious and cardiac conditions, bone disorders and cancer.
"At Roche, we are committed to creating true medical value through delivering leading edge diagnostic tests and technologies, explained Ian Parfrement, director of hospital in-vitro diagnostics at Roche.
Last month, Roche Diagnostics launched the Elecsys Troponin T high sensitive (TnT hs) assay, which is designed to be used on Cobas and MODULAR Analytics serum work areas.
It demonstrates precision in the range of 0.003-10 ng/ml Troponin T in serum or plasma - helping healthcare professionals to identify the risk of future coronary events.
