Posted on 16/11/2009 in Scientific Mast Group has announced the availability of its brand new influenza testing kit as the winter months arrive.
The Seeplex Influenza A/B OneStep PCR assay features patented digital phosphor technology to ensure high sensitivity and specificity, the company stated.
It has markers to detect a variety of influenza strains, including the human types A, A-H3, A-H1 and swine influenza A-H1.
Mast has pointed out that the equipment meets the requirements set out by the World Health Organization for the detection of influenza.
It is also the first in the Seeplex range to offer a single reverse transcriptase and PCR step, decreasing the amount of time needed for evaluations.
This news follows the mast Group's highlighting of recent research which pointed to the importance of using equipment - such as the firm's Hain Lifescience Genotype HelicoDR - to monitor bacteria's evolving resistance to drugs. Other news stories from 16/11/2009
