Posted on 16/11/2009 in Marketing Services Porter Novelli's global head of digital Mat Morrison is leaving the agency to develop his own start-up business.
According to PR Week, Mr Morrison's new venture is called the Magic Bean Laboratory and will aim to help small marketing firms improve links between digital content and integration.
However, the executive believes that his new role will require him to remain closely involved with certain aspects of the PR industry.
"I want to maintain my relationship with PR because I still think that PR agencies are really well-placed to pick up a lot of this work," he told the publication.
Meanwhile, Porter Novelli's UK managing director Jean Wyllie paid tribute to Mr Morrison's achievements in his two years as the agency's digital chief.
"I believe he has put Porter Novelli on the digital map across our network and he has built a strong team specifically in the UK office," she commented.
In September, PR Week reported that Ms Wyllie had handed in her resignation after claiming that Porter Novelli "needs someone else to take it to the next level" in the UK. She is due to depart the agency next month.
