Posted on 13/11/2009 in Veterinary Supplier News Allianz Animal Health, operating under its trading name of Petplan, has donated £500 to the Celia Hammond Animal Trust in Lewisham in London through its monthly charity prize draw.
Petplan, which offers four weeks' free insurance to those who adopt pets from the shelters it supports, holds the monthly draw to benefit charities that care for pets without homes.
The Celia Hammond trust stated that it will use the funds to establish a new isolation ward at its base.
Re-homing manager at the trust Carol Jones said: "We often hear of incidents where pet owners cannot afford to look after their pet if they develop a reoccurring illness. Pet insurance allows owners to do all they can for their pet."
Last month, Allianz Animal Health was singled out as a top insurance provider by the independent consumer group Which?, being awarded its Best Buy accolade for the Covered for Life policy.
