Posted on 13/11/2009 in Pharmaceutical Company Product News Ipsen has announced that it has received approval for the marketing of decapeptyl (triptorelin embonate) for the treatment of locally advanced and metastatic prostate cancer.
Permission was granted by the Agence Francaise de Securite Sanitaire des Produits de Sante (AFSSAPS) and covers a six-month sustained-release formulation.
The launch of the product has now been scheduled to take place in during the first semester of next year.
Etienne de Blois, deputy general manager of French operations at Ipsen, commented: "Its improved convenience comes with a consistent and similar efficacy and tolerance to the already established decapeptyl's one and three-month decapeptyl formulations."
In other recent Ipsen news, the firm published its third-quarter financial results earlier this month, revealing that its consolidated group sales reached 777.5 million euros (696.9 million pounds) during the period.
