Posted on 12/11/2009 in Pharmaceutical Company Product News Lilly, the global pharmaceutical firm, has announced that a film it collaborated on with the International Diabetes Fund (IDF) concerning the prevalence of diabetes among children will air on World Diabetes Day and won an award at the recent Tribeca Festival.
The feature, entitled Life for a Child, will be aired on TV for the first time on World Diabetes Day - Saturday November 14th 2009.
It includes Edward Lachman - an Academy Award-nominated actor - and follows the story of children in Nepal with type 1 diabetes.
The IDF supports the youngsters with crucial medication as part of its Life for a Child Programme.
Scott MacGregor, executive producer of the documentary and a communications consultant for Lilly, stated: "We hope this film will not only raise awareness of these issues, but increase support for the Life for a Child Programme."
In other Lilly news, in collaboration with its development partner Amylin, the company recently offered an update on its Food and Drug Administration application for the injection Byetta (exenatide).
