Posted on 11/11/2009 in Medical Company Product News Medtronic has announced the launch of a new clinical trial into its Attain instruments - which include the Attain StarFix and the Attain Ability left-heart leads.
The firm has also introduced over 13 catheters to the Attire portfolio over the last two years.
Overall, the trial plans to evaluate the success of the heart implants, complication rates and procedure times in approximately 2,000 individuals at 150 medical centres in 18 countries.
Marshall Stanton, vice-president of clinical research for the cardiac rhythm disease management business at Medtronic, stated: "As part of Medtronic's ongoing dedication to post-market analysis of our products, we are excited to do the first large global analysis to confirm our previous clinical results."
He added that the trial will also collate procedure and handling information from physicians regarding the products.
