The organisation made its remarks as it launched a new book called Reputation Capital: Building and Maintaining Trust in the 21st Century.
Joachim Klewes and Robert Wreschniok, the editors of the publication, explained that strategies for enhancing a firm's reputation bear a strong resemblance to those used in the financial sector, with factors such as hedge, growth and value all playing a key role in decisions as they are made.
Commenting, Mr Wreschniok said: "The rules for building reputation mirror classic investment strategies ? with a definite relationship between risk and return."
