| Red Door Communications comments on digital media survey | Posted on 02/11/2009 in Marketing Services Red Door Communications has responded to a recent survey on the impact of digital media on the British healthcare industry.
Conducted by ICM Market Research for the Creston Health group companies, the poll found that 73 per cent of GPs in the UK expect to witness an increase in the use of online medical journals.
The study also revealed that one in six doctors claim that social media is already an important part of their role, while one in 20 has written a blog.
Catherine Warne, managing director of Red Door Communications, said that technological innovations are providing the pharmaceutical industry with a chance to reach consumers in new ways.
"The opportunity will be realised if we fully understand the needs of our audiences and deliver information in a way that meets these," she commented.
"While we're all looking to the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) for guidance on how we do this, the web is moving on."
The PMCPA is responsible for administering the code of practice for the UK pharmaceutical industry.
