PerkinElmer reveals new products

16th October 2009

PerkinElmer this week showcased several new products it has developed that are designed to improve the speed and effectiveness of research for neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis.

Among the offerings the firm revealed at the Society for Neuroscience annual meeting are 15 GPCR ready-to-use frozen cell lines and seven LANCE Ultra assay products, bringing the number of kinases that can be tested to over 300.

Its new nSpire Multilabel Plate Reader with ultra sensitive luminescence and temperature control was also unveiled, as was the NeoLite reporter gene assay, which provides increased sensitivity and extended luminescence read time.

Richard Eglen, president of bio-discovery at the organisation, said: "PerkinElmer continues its tradition of being an integral part of the Society for Neuroscience annual meeting. All of these tools are focused to enable researchers to improve the speed and efficiency of their research."

Earlier this month, PerkinElmer firm NTD Laboratories revealed that it is now part of the Aetna network of health plans, which will incorporate the firm’s Down’s Syndrome free-beta hCG screening facility.
