Posted on 15/10/2009 in Pharmacy Supplier News Consilient Health has introduced Clopidogrel 75 mg tablets to the UK pharmacy sector, marking the first time a generic version of the brand Plavix has been launched in the country.
Clopidogrel was ranked as the second most successful product globally in terms of sales in 2007 by IMS and UK sales were estimated at £176 million at manufacturer prices last year.
The drug will be sold by Consilient Health in blister packs of 28 and 30 tablets.
According to the firm, the launch indicates its "continued commitment to bringing new, cost-effective and technically challenging generic medicines on a timely basis to its UK customers".
Consilient Health is a firm based in Europe that concentrates on the distribution and marketing of high-quality generic drugs on the continent.
It has offices in the UK, headquarters in Ireland and is planning to expand its operations to France, Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia in the future.
