| Life Technologies appoints new sales vice-president | Posted on 15/10/2009 in Scientific Life Technologies has revealed that a new vice-president for next-generation sequencing has been appointed within its ranks.
Jay Therrien has been recruited by the firm and will be responsible for all sales activities related to Life Technologies' next-generation sequencing portfolio.
His previous roles include director of sales for Asia Pacific and Japan for Illumina, senior scientist and director of business development for ACGT and technical support specialist and field application specialist at Vysis.
Bernd Brust, the company's president and chief commercial operations officer, commented: "Life Technologies is a leader in next-generation sequencing and I am confident that Jay's talent and his years of both scientific and sales experience will only strengthen our capabilities."
Last week, Life Technologies division Applied Biosystems revealed that it has been chosen by the Baylor College of Medicine to supply the centre with equipment to expand its fleet of advanced genomic next-generation sequencing technology.
