The Body Shop launches anti-trafficking initiative

Posted on 05/10/2009 in Pharmacy Supplier News

The Body Shop has launched a new campaign to raise awareness of child trafficking, which will see it team up with End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and the Trafficking of Children (ECPAT).

For every purchase of the company's Soft Hands Kind Heart Hand Cream, the Body Shop will make a donation to the foundation, a global network of groups dedicated to stopping the exploitation of children.

By launching the campaign, the Body Shop hopes to get its customers thinking more about the issue, discussing it with family and friends and reporting any incidents of child trafficking they suspect taking place.

Its hand cream is available to order both in store and online.

The Body Shop was established by human rights activist Anita Roddick in 1976 and created an environmental department a year after its founding.

It has supported organisations such as Greenpeace and Unicef in the past.
