| Hologic ThinPrep Integrated Image Maker receives CE marking | Posted on 01/10/2009 in Scientific Hologic announced that its ThinPrep integrated imager, which was exhibited at the 35th European Congress of Cytology in Portugal this week, has received the CE mark.
The product is a cutting-edge tool in cervical cancer screening and combines ThinPrep imaging technology and slide review into a single stand-alone piece of equipment.
It also allows laboratories of all sizes to benefit from clinical advantages of ThinPrep imaging for cervical screening.
Howard Doran, senior vice-president of diagnostics products for Hologic, said: "The ThinPrep integrated imager is designed to provide the small and medium volume laboratory access to the most effective and efficient cytology screening technology available."
This news follows the announcement last month that Hologic's ML radiation therapy for the treatment of early-stage breast cancer has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
