| Agilent Technologies 'to co-market target-enrichment system' | Posted on 23/09/2009 in Scientific Agilent Technologies has announced that it has entered into a co-marketing agreement with Applied Biosystems to introduce the Agilent SureSelect Target Enrichment System.
The apparatus, which is optimised for the SOLiD System, is a next-generation advanced genomic analysis sequencing platform and a unique research tool for efficiently re-sequencing specific regions of interest in the genome.
According to the firms, the product can help researchers save both time and expense and enables them to conduct studies that would otherwise not be achievable.
Doctor John McPherson, cancer genomics director at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research, said: "The combination of the SureSelect enrichment and the accuracy of the SOLiD System will enable us to cost-effectively assess genetic variation across multiple tumour samples."
In other Agilent Technologies news, the firm also expanded its integrated circuit characterisation and analysis program (IC-CAP) software platform at analogue/mixed-signal foundry X-FAB this week.
