Posted on 14/09/2009 in Vet / Veterinary Surgeon News Dechra has announced the winner of its Veterinary Products Dermatology prize, which it awarded in collaboration with the University of Liverpool.
In the inaugural year of the accolade, Nicola Rigby, a final year student of veterinary science at the university, has been bestowed with the award for her efforts in the field of dermatology.
According to the firm, Ms Rigby displays impressive skill when it comes to elective modules and dermatology clinical rotation and knowledge of her subject. She received £450 of high street vouchers alongside the award.
"We are very grateful to Dechra for providing this prize, which highlights the importance of dermatology and is an excellent way to reward students who have worked hard to excel in this field," explained Dr Tim Nutall from the university's School of Veterinary Science.
The winners of similar initiative from Dechra - a competition to find those who have achieved the effective treatment of feline hyperthyroidism - were announced in June and included Linda Williams of Guild Street Veterinary Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon and Elizabeth Lyon from the Manchester Atherton Veterinary Centre.
