Nalco makes the Dow Jones sustainability list for second year

Nalco has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the second consecutive year, it has emerged.
Among the products Nalco was recognised for was its 3D TRASAR(r) cooling technology, which it says helped to save almost 63 billion gallons of water last year and was given a US Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award.
The firm's PARETO technology for wet-end optimisation also saved papermakers 460 billion Btus of energy, reducing CO2 emissions last year by more than 30,000 tonnes.
Erik Fyrwald, chairman and chief executive of Nalco, said: "By helping thousands of companies around the world operate more efficiently, we help them reduce water and energy use, slash greenhouse gas emissions and cut other critical pollutants such as [
] mercury."
Nalco has enjoyed recognition for its green efforts in recent times, as its subsidiary Nalco Mobotec was named emissions control company of the year by the New Economy Magazine last month.
